Spark - Mandala Design

"Spark" by Misty Shaw

The shapes in this mandala are inspired by Brazillian architechture, Japanese print designs, and West African Adinkra symbols. I chose mainly warm colors with a bit of blue to complement the orangish tone.

It was a challenge using acrylics to create this mandala. I like how creating this piece gave me a sense of direction. This piece helps me on the road to painting more abstract works.

This is my effort of expressing a bit of my spirit. This painting has given me ideas for the kinds of paintings I want to create in the future.

Great job, Misty! Your mandala uses such bold and beautiful colors - I feel like it radiates a real sense of strength and energy. I like it!

It's great to read about the different art forms that inspired the look of your mandala. It's amazing how such different art forms can be woven together into a single piece. Well-done!

I like that you used acrylics as well. I haven't tried too many mandalas with acrylics. It's a neat idea!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful mandala! :)
