Whimsy Mandala

by Lynne
(Indiana)

"whimsy"

I decided to create this mandala as a way of challenging myself to do something different. I enjoyed the balance and repetition needed to create it. I drew the design with different sizes and colors of Sharpie markers. I wanted to use many different colors and make the piece feel lively and fun. (Although I think it would be interesting to make another one in just black & white!) Although it took a bit of time and has some imperfections, the end result pleased me and I was so "into" the project I didn't realize how long I had worked on it until it was finished. It's fun to get that absorbed in art. :)

I could see your mandela as a ceramic tile backsplash in a kitchen.
