Learn how
to create your own skull drawings!
Drawing skulls is easy, once you know how. On this site I'll show
you how to draw 9 different skulls. You can pick the one that strikes
you the most, or you can try them all!
Sketch
your skulls with a pencil first, so that you can erase any mistakes.
Then if you want, color them in with markers, crayons or colored pencils!
You can even paint your skulls if you choose.
This drawing lesson will show you all the steps to create the skull on the left. This skull is fairly easy to draw, because it only requires 8 simple steps. Watch the animation on the left to see how easy it is!
When you're done drawing your skull, you can then color and decorate your skull drawings for Day of the Dead! If you don't know what Day of the Dead is, read all about it! For examples of my Day of the Dead art, see my skull drawings on the right.
Click on each skull to be taken to simple step-by-step instructions for drawing each one.

cool skull drawing! |
|
Draw a circle that is rather flat along the bottom - almost looking "squashed". |
At the bottom of the circle, start inside of the circle on one side and draw a graceful u-shape that dips down and comes back up inside the circle on the other side. This will be the outline for the teeth. |
In between the bottom of the circle and the line you just drew in Step 2, draw a parallel line. This will be the middle of the teeth. |
|
Draw lines up and down for the teeth. |
Next to the mouth, draw 2 lines (1 on each side) that run parallel to the mouth. |
Draw a line connecting the 2 lines you just drew in Step 5. This line should run parallel to the mouth to form the jaw. |
|
Above the teeth, draw 2 raindrop shapes for nostrils. |
Draw 2 eyes. Now you're done! |
