Strathmore Illustration Board for Wet Media

Wondering how Strathmore Illustration Board for Wet Media will work with colored pencils. (I'm doing a colored drawing of someone's home with lots of trees & foliage around it.)

response to question

I checked out Strathmore Illustration Board for Wet Media and it looks like it'll work just fine with colored pencils, since it is meant to accept both dry media and wet media.

The main thing to be aware of is that the vellum surface will be more "toothy" than regular drawing paper, so there might be more "skip" when you run your pencils across it. This can be altered depending on the intensity of the pressure you use, so if you press harder, there will be less skip - but more muscle work for you. You may or may not like this toothy quality, depending on how you want your drawing to look. Just something to keep in mind!

If you want to add any wet media to the artwork, this board would be perfect for that.

If you have any doubts, you can always do a small test drawing on a small piece of the illustration board to see how it goes before committing to executing an entire drawing on it.

Hope that helps and best of luck with it!!
