For instance, I first colored the mandala above using Sai Watercolor Markers and then went over all the black lines using Sakura Gelly Roll Pens, then I used the gel pens to add extra details on top of the areas that I had colored in with marker. About these printable coloring pages

This printable set of Detailed Mandala Coloring Pages is delivered to you as an e-book in PDF format.

The fun thing about printable coloring pages is that you can print them as many times as you like (for your personal, non-commercial, household use only). Plus you can print them on any type of paper that can safely run through your printer, from specially-coated canvas or watercolor paper to colored cardstock or even fabric! My absolute favorite paper to print on is Neenah Exact Index 110lb Cardstock, which I love because it is thicker than regular printer paper and also thicker than most paper you'll find in published coloring books. Depending on the type of paper you use, you can color these mandalas with a wide variety of media beyond the regular markers, gel pens and colored pencils - for instance, why not experiment with acrylics, watercolor pencils, glitter pens, gouache and more!

Another great thing about printables is that you don't have to worry about coloring the page "just right" on your first (or second or third!) try. You can feel free to experiment with different color schemes, different media, and different techniques. It's an opportunity to explore your creativity and have fun, knowing that you can print the page again if you get a new idea or want to take your coloring in a different direction!

Coloring tips for these Detailed Mandala Coloring Pages

Markers are one of my favorite coloring supplies – specifically alcohol markers – so I've also written a detailed beginner's guide to buying markers where I discuss things like the difference between water-based and alcohol-based markers, tip-shapes, blending techniques,  brand recommendations and other important considerations for people new to the world of art markers.

These mandala coloring pages are quite detailed, so they're best suited for adults, teens and older kids who enjoy coloring in complicated designs. If you don't like detail or if you have difficulties with coloring in tight spaces then these might not be the best coloring option for you  - in which case you might enjoy some of my published coloring books in which the art was often designed with bigger spaces that people could fill with patterns, shading and color!
